La Bonne Soupe 48 W. 55th. St. New York, NY 10019 Soupe Du Jour Quiche Du Jour Grand Marnier Crème Brûlée Goat Cheese Salad Petites Soupieres de la Mer Dame Blanche There is no need to wait around for restaurant week because this specialty French restaurant serves prix fixe meals all year round. Choose a 2-course lunch prix fixe or a 3-course dinner prix fixe for a set price. Soupe Du Jour: The smooth tomato soup was hot and creamy. The best part was dipping the toasted baguette, which was a perfect replacement for the typical croutons. It was undoubtedly one of the best appetizers especially during the colder months of the year. Quiche Du Jour: This thick, crusty French tart was packed with spinach. It also came with a refreshing side salad. Grand Marnier Crème Brûlée: For small upcharge, I added a third course to the lunch prix fixe. Usually three’s a crowd, but that certainly is not the case here. The custard was very tasty and was topped with a hardened caramel shell. Goat Cheese Salad: This gourmet salad was piled high and deep with mixed greens and fruit. The goat cheese was the backbone to this starter. Petites Soupieres de la Mer: If you are looking for an upscale seafood version of a pot pie, you’ve found it! This entrée is loaded with mussels, scallops, clams and an assortment of vegetables. Dame Blanche: Watch and observe as le serveur pours hot chocolate syrup over this phenomenal closer to the meal. The inside is filled with a heaping pile of chantilly cream and lightly sprinkled with almonds. Stop by if you want to try top quality French cuisine. The prix fixe is definitely the best pick. #labonnesoupe #frenchcuisine #soupedujour #quichedujour #grandmarnier #cremebrulee #GoatCheeseSalad #dameblanche #nycfoodie #foodstagram #localspots #eats #foodreviews

This BEST French onion soup in the city. Every time I go it's an utter delight. It's a very cozy vibe inside and I love to go with friends for a nice relaxing and simple french dinner with amazing flavors. My go to is their dinner prefix menu which is soup or salad, entree, then dessert. I always get the same thing: starting with the French onion soup. The flavors are INSANE. Perfectly crispy cooked cheese on top, the right about of croutons for the consistency, and the beef and sherry flavor just blows my mind every time. When I say they make the best French onion soup, I dare you to try this and tell me one better. It blows them all out of the water! The steak frites is always my entree and the sauce is just so thick, creamy, and an absolutely flavor explosion (bet you haven't heard that one in a while lol) it truly is! Then the dessert... not only is it decadent and delicious but it's always camera ready...by that I mean you're absolutely gonna wanna film yourself pouring the indulgent chocolate on top of it. It gets the people going! This is one of my absolute favorite places to go for a meal in the city, and I hope they continue to be amazing. Well done, La Bonne. Well done.

This restaurant has been a staple in my family since I’ve been a child, and I am so glad that it has remained faithful to the French culture and food that I’ve grown up with. The food is absolutely delicious, menu filled with a multitude of options for every guest. I always recommend their soupe à l’oignon & mousse au chocolat. I went with my friend; we had their moules frites and bœuf bourguignon & it was amazing. Highly recommend dropping here if you’re missing a taste of France or even if you’re looking for a great place to dine.

La Bonne Soupe is a cozy French bistro that instantly transports you to Paris. Warm, inviting, and full of charm—it’s the kind of place that feels authentic without trying too hard. I ordered the Croque Madame, Caesar salad, tuna tartare, and a fresh lemonade. Everything was delicious! The croque was perfectly crisp and cheesy, the tartare light and flavorful, and the Caesar was simple but done right. Even the lemonade tasted freshly made, not too sweet—just refreshing. It’s casual yet elegant, ideal for lunch with a friend or a solo café moment. The vibe is relaxed, and the staff is friendly without being overbearing. A little French escape in the middle of Manhattan.

This was a cool French restaurant. I was an American and ordered a burger and fries lol. It was really good. It had a lot of caramelized onions. Wasn’t a huge fan, but I also didn’t request them not to include them. We also got fresh bread while we waited for our food. My friends ordered some of the French dishes and they really enjoyed them. They said the mushroom soup was really good. I would definitely go back.

We went there for our team lunch. It is a cute place and our waiter was very friendly. The lunch deal was pretty good too. As for food - it was just too much cheese and heavy. I should have picked a salad instead of onion soup.

An old midtown classic that consistently delivers a solid meal. One of the few places I know where you can get a nice fondue meal. The fondue is what draws me there not sure I would necessarily go out of my way to go there otherwise since it’s not convenient, but it’s a solid spot in Midtown, especially for children and out of town guests and it’s cozy in the winter.
